Electronics wire strip - you need more than just a sharp wire stripping tool

Precision and repeatability matters when wire stripping

Electronics wire strip - you need more than just a sharp wire stripping tool

Stripping a wire sounds simple enough.

But when you are working with special or heat-resistant insulation, getting a clean and consistent result can be more challenging.

Too much heat, the wrong tool or too much mechanical force can damage the conductor or leave an inconsistent strip.
And when several operators are doing the same job, keeping the result consistent can become another challenge.

The goal? A clean wire strip - every time

This is where a precision wire stripping station can make a difference.

The JBC precision wire stripper station WSS is designed for controlled stripping of demanding insulation materials, including:

  • Silicone
  • Teflon
  • Tefzel
  • Kapton
  • PVC
  • Nylon
  • Kynar
  • rubber and polyethylene.

Instead of leaving the operator to find the right temperature, the station uses the selected insulation type to automatically apply a predetermined temperature level.

That means less guesswork for the operator and more consistent results from wire to wire.

Why temperature control matters

Different insulation materials react differently to heat.

Finding the right balance is important: The correct heat will remove the wire insulation cleanly, without unnecessarily affecting the conductor or surrounding material.

The JBC WSS wire stripping station supports stripping applications with temperatures of up to 800 °C and wire sizes from 0.13 to 1.63 mm / 36–14 AWG.

The wire strippers hand tool, is compatible with a range of different single-hole and flat stripping tools, that makes it possible to match the hand tool setup to the wire and stripping job at hand.

More than just wire stripping

In production - repeatability matters.

A controlled stripping process can help reduce variation between operators and make wire preparation more predictable - particularly when working with difficult insulation materials or applications where conductor integrity is important.

It is a good example of how the right hand tool can do more than make a task possible. It can make the task easier to control.

At CORE-emt, we offer the JBC Precision wire stripper station WSS together with the complete range of JBC hand soldering and rework tools.
